step up your game-Christian chukwu



Following the draw, the super Eagles of Nigeria played against the Catalyuna  on Wednesday night, former Super Eagles coach and technical committee member, Christian chukwu has come out to say that the outcome of the game should give the players confidence ahead of the nations cup.

According to the former rangers international player he said ‘any match that the eagles plays should be taken seriously’, the match against the Catalyuna, was a big one and it should be able to install confidence in this players, when they get to the nations cup”.

He also stated the performance of the players of the players should be a headache to the coach and its handlers when it comes to selecting the right players that will be flying the country’s flag in South Africa.

“The players that played against the Spanish side did very well, I will put the coaches on pressure on who will take part in the nations cup, because most of these foreign based have not resume training”. The game will boost the morale of the players”. He added.

He also added that, “the essence of the friendly games is to assess the players, both individual and collectively”.

Meanwhile, ex Super Eagles, has also voiced out that the eagles played below expectation, and more work needs to be done.

“They did play well, but was not good enough”, in the first half of the game their opponents kept holding unto the ball”. “We could not make enough passes to each other”. He said.

Ex-international Super Eagles left back, Ben Iroha, has declared that the present Super Eagles lack mobility in the game they played against the Catalonians side on Wednesday.
The former Watford player made this known earlier on Friday morning on BRILLA FM. He said that the eagles need to pass the ball instead of holding unto the ball.
In his words, ‘they need to move more with the ball, the passes should be accurate and they also have to learn how to keep the on the ground”. He said.
He also added that, “they were not mobile at all, it was only the Kenneth Omerou that kept the ball down in the defence area”, don’t get me wrong, they played well, but more work needs to be done”. He stated.
He continued “the coach needs to work hard on the players, because the competition is less than two weeks and we need players that can deliver what we want”. He said
